Avoid the 10 Most Dangerous Mistakes

Let me ask you a question…

Let’s say I gave you the 10 most dangerous mistakes
people are making with their money.
 Would you be
willing to take corrective action to eliminate them
from your life?

Or if you are not currently making these mistakes,
would you like to refresh them to memory and promise
to avoid them like the plague?

Over the next several weeks, I will write on the blog
the mistakes people are making with their money.

What I found works best when I coach clients is breaking
things down into small steps, thus, it helps put the
odds in their favor for success.

So let’s start with the first mistake right now. Here it is….

Mistake #1: Having a Negative Attitude about Money

This is probably the most crucial mistake people make
and they don’t even know it.

Financial success or failure is 90% behavioral.
Your behaviors are a result of what is happening
in your mind.

I don’t know about you but growing up in my household,
money meant stress.  I heard familiar phrases like:

It will not make me happy…

It does not grow on trees…
The love of money is the root of all evil

Having this type of conditioning drilled into me,
kept me away from the winner’s circle with it.
I failed miserably with money in the beginning
until I took action to develop the right mindset.

I had to let go of those crazy terms my peers
programmed into me.

When I decided to reframe those negative ideas
into wealthy thoughts the condition of my financial
landscape started to change.

Here are the terms I live with today:

Money brings me Freedom
Money makes my life a whole lot easier
Money is good for me
Money comes to me from unexpected sources

One of the biggest difficulties in having a wealth
mindset is doing a simple self-awareness.  The majority
of us really don’t walk around wondering what is
happening behind the scenes in our minds.

If you want to get a handle on this, then it’s time
to dig deep by conducting a self-awareness test…

One technique I found works wonders is writing
down my thoughts to see what is really happening
underneath the hood.

It is great to get things down on paper and analyze
the tea leaves. It really helps me see things clearly.

When my thoughts appeared to be working against me,
I would cross out the negative ones and replace them
with new supportive terms.

I was pleasantly surprised how well this works,
thus, opening the door for me to attract more
money into my life.

So this week, work on creating a new attitude
about your money. Live life with money on your
own terms instead of all those restrictive terms
people tried to get you to buy into.

Thanks for being part of the Money on Your Terms
community.

Talk to you next week.

Your Friend,

Tim Mann
